Michelle de Bruin shares her success story
Me and my husband got married in 2005, we have been together already for over 7 years and decided it's now or never. So we both said our I do’s.
We actually then started to plan our little family but without any luck we battled to get pregnant. I first visited my gynea in 2006 and she said everything was fine. I then went for a second opinion and the docter told me that I’m not ovulating and that I needed medicine to ripen my ovaries.
So for a whole 8 months we were on clomeds and injections and still no luck. On the last month, September 2007, my gynea suggested as a last resort, injections, those that cost about R350 to R400 an injection. And I needed 18 of them.
So we started the proses once again. I was really skeptical. On the weekend of my birthday my gynea told me that it must be me and hubby time, breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert (you know what I mean) to ensure that the treatment works.
A week later I felt as if nothing worked, so on the Friday I phoned my gynea's secretary and told her that I would be cancelling all the treatments until further notice, and that I’m not up to it once again.
Funny enough, the next Wednesday, I just felt like something wasn't right, so I went to buy a home pregnancy test at the pharmacy and like murphy’s law the test was faulty. I then went for a blood test and it showed positive.
That was the most amazing day of our lives. My little girl is turning 3 in June and is still a blessing. Parents must not give up. Our Dear God knows what our hearts desire is and he makes our wishes come true.
