Loads of celebs grow their families by adopting.

New celeb adoptive parents Ewan McGregor and Denise Richards join the ranks of many others who've shared their lives with adopted children.

Katherine Heigl
The Grey’s Anatomy star and musician husband, Josh Kelley adopted a daughter from Korea. Heigl’s own sister is also adopted. Speaking on The Ellen DeGenres  Show, she said, “My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the '70s, and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do.”  The baby’s name is Naleigh, a combination of her mother, Nancy and sister Leigh’s names.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman

The ex-couple have two adopted kids. Isabella Jane born in 1992 and Connor Anthony born in 1995 (pictured left with Tom). They share joint custody of the children.

Michelle Pfeiffer
Michelle and mega producer husband David E. Kelly (responsible for hits such as The Practice, Ally McBeal and Boston Public) adopted Claudia Rose in 2001.

Hugh Jackman

After 2 miscarriages, Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness adopted a son, Oscar Maximillian in 2000 and added a daughter, Ava Eliot in 2005.

Meg Ryan
January 2006, saw Meg Ryan welcome a baby from China named Daisy True. Ryan has a son with Dennis Quaid named Jack Henry born in 1992.

Sheryl Crowe
After a disastrous relationship with Lance Armstrong, ending in a broken engagement in 2005 and being treated with breats cancer in 2006, Crowe adopted a son called Wyatt Steven Crowe. Wyatt is Sheryl's father's middle name, and Steven was chosen to honour her brother and her manager (both named Steven).

Calista Flockhart
In 2001 Calista adopted a son who she named Liam. Fiancé Harrison Ford later adopted Liam as his son as well.

Ewan McGregor
McGregor and wife, Eve Mavrakis have two biological daughters but added a Mongolian daughter named Jamiyan to their family in 2001.

Queen Madge has two adopted kids, both from Malawi where she has a charity project called Raising Malawi. Son David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie was adopted in 2006 and daughter Chifundo "Mercy" James in June 2009.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
Angelina adopted eldest son Maddox in 2002 from Cambodia when she was with Billy Bob Thornton, he was named Maddox Jolie-Thornton. After they had split, Thornton gave up parental rights. Daughter  Zahara Marley was adopted in 2005 in Ethiopia. Later on Brad Pitt adopted Jolie’s 2 children as his own. Thus beginning the legend of the Jolie-Pitts. The couple have another adopted son, Pax Thien from Vietnam in 2007, he was 4 years old at the time. The couple have 3 biological children, Shiloh Nouvel born in 2006 and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline born in 2008.
