We took to Facebook and Twitter and asked whether or not the urge to be a parent was there even as children. Here's what parents like you had to say:
The thought of motherhood and being a parent did not even cross my mind. I did play house with friends and with dolls but I always knew it was just a game. I only started to think about parenting when I was already pregnant with child 1 and even then I freaked out! - Julia Webber

I only wanted to be a mother, I don't remember thinking of what career I would have etc. But after university and marriage I realised that life is stressful enough, if I wanted to be a "good" parent I would have to give up my job and I can't really do that right now.
