What is it?
An allergic reaction that causes itchy, dry and sometimes flaky skin. This can be caused by a variety of causes such as food allergies or a direct allergy to a substance such as soap powder or grass.

What to do

Untreated eczema sometimes spreads and becomes very uncomfortable and unsightly. Avoid known allergens, and try washing the child’s clothes in non-allergenic soap. The doctor may recommend a cream to soften and soothe the skin, and in severe cases a steroid cream will be prescribed.
