Tuberculosis
A bacterial infection most often in the lungs, that can spread through the lymph nodes and the bloodstream to any organ of the body.
Symptoms:
- A cough that lasts longer than three weeks
- Weight loss
- Listlessness and malaise
- A temperature
- Night sweats
Seriousness:
- Take your child to the doctor for a sputum test, especially if a family member has TB.
- Babies are especially at risk.
Treatment:
- Children are easy to treat and TB is completely curable if detected early and the full treatment is completed.
