What is it?
There are different types of worms, commonly spread through contact with the eggs. The symptoms of worm infestation are itching around the anus, irritability and restlessness, insomnia, weight loss and poor appetite, nail biting and grinding of teeth. You might even spot small white threads in the nappy or toilet.

What to do

Get the right medication for the worms from your doctor. She may recommend that the whole family regular take an anti-worm treatment. For the future, emphasise good hygiene such as hand-washing after going to the toilet, before eating or playing with pets or outside in the sand.
