Inspire S.T.E.A.M. is a recently implemented school program by tech company Inspire Africa, that teaches learners from ages 8 and upwards about drones and coding.
The company is set on igniting young imaginations by introducing them to applied learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM).
"Inspire Africa’s unique approach to enticing children into the world of coding through the excitement of drone flying, promises to stimulate and ‘hook’ our students into this increasingly relevant technological arena", says Reddam House Headmaster, David Clarke.
Reddam House in Constantia, Cape Town, is one of the schools that has introduced the programme to support their STEAM development.

It is well-known that South African students in general are sorely lagging behind the rest of the world when it comes to STEAM disciplines, he says.
This innovative programme brings STEAM to life, leaving learners with core skills and greater understanding of the role and value of these disciplines.
Simon Robinson, CEO of the Inspire Africa Group, is emphatic about contributing to the development of STEAM in all South African schools because "The future of our economy relies greatly on people with STEAM skills."
Drone uses extend past our lifestyle enjoyments, with flying fun and aerial photography, they now offer more career opportunities in an emerging global market for business services using drones that according to a PwC report, has a potential value of over US$127 billion .
"We want to get the youth of today excited, by providing the opportunity for them to learn new skills and use these skills in their future development and employment," he concludes.
