This dad had a punchy way of teaching his teenage daughter a lesson.
Jason Hilley from Florida in the US turned his own jeans into short shorts and sashayed into his 14-year-old daughter Kendall’s bedroom, Unilad reports.
The dad-of-two later took to Facebook to publicise his “parenting 101” skills.
“You wear yours out in public? I will wear mine! Parenting 101,” Jason captioned his post, which has been shared more than 250 000 times.
In the viral clip Jason can be seen prancing into Kendall’s room wearing his personal version of daisy dukes.
“I’m picking her up from school with these on,” Jason declares, as Kendall starts laughing.
This comes after the teenager walked into the family’s living room a few days ago in shorts her father thought were showing too much skin.
“I said, ‘Kendall, take my debit card and buy yourself shorts that fit,” the father told Today. “She got on her computer and did just that.”
“I asked, ’Why aren’t you wearing your new shorts? And she goes, ‘These are my new shorts!’
“We joke around a lot, but Kendall knows when my jokes are serious,
“Kids will be kids and try to push the limits. That’s when I step in and try to correct the behaviour with a little bit of humour.
“You don’t have to yell and scream and punish to get a point across.”
Since posting the video, Jason has been praised for his parenting.
“Way to go, Dad! One day she’ll tell you how much she appreciated that you love her so much that you were willing to be THIS Dad!” one person commented.
“In an era where countless parents are at least apathetic, if not encouraging, about their daughters parading around like teenage toddlers in denim diapers one man took a stand,” another person wrote.
