Watching your children leave the nest is hard for any parent.
Brandt Barber from Atlanta in the US, shared a series of pictures on Instagram of himself with his sons sitting at the same spot, documenting an intimate restaurant tradition that would soon come to an end after they went to university, The Sun reported.
During an interview with Buzz Feed, the 57-year-old said for years he went to the same fast-food restaurant with his sons, Brooks, Bryce and Luke, once a week and they’d sit at the same table and order the same meal.
In the first picture shared, Brandt can be seen with all three of his sons. In the second snap, which was captured shortly after Brooks headed off to school, the dad is pictured with his two sons.
“And then there were three,” he captioned the second pic.
In the last snap he can be seen sitting at the exact same spot – but this time all by himself.
The dad confessed in the caption that going to the restaurant, “was never really the thing”, instead it was about spending quality time with his kids.
“Why did my dad have to go this hard on Insta and why am I crying?” Brooks captioned screenshots of the posts he shared on Twitter.
The sweet posts have since gone viral on Twitter with more than 900 000 likes and 160 000 retweets.
“Y’all better drop out and go meet your dad at DQ right now. I ain’t even playin’,” one user commented on the post.
“Great dad teaching his young boys that emotions are a human thing and that family is everything,” another added.
