It didn’t take long for a former Miss Universe to be mommy-shamed online after posting a pic of her adorable baby daughter on Instagram.

First-time mom Jennifer Hawkins, from Australia, shared a snap of her cuddling her three-month old daughter Frankie Violet on a beach in the sun, Mirror UK reports.

“No one can prepare you for the gummy smiles and baby ‘convo’?!” the caption read.

While some of her nearly 900 000 Instagram followers gushed over the cute infant, others criticised the Australian model for not putting a sun hat on the tot, despite her wearing one herself.

“Loving the photo but why does Mummy have a hat on and not bubba?” one follower commented.

“Where’s the baby’s hat?” another asked.

The 36-year-old’s fans quickly jumped to her defence saying “mom-shaming” is far too common these days, Daily Mail reports.

“I’m laughing as a mum, as people just love to stir the pot,” one user commented.

“Seriously. Listen, ‘perfect mummy’, keep your judgements to yourself, mind your own business,” another fan wrote.

“Mummy-shaming at its very best! No wonder new mums find this time even more difficult these days with the constant commentary and criticism,” yet another added.

Jennifer also responded to her critics by hitting back with, “Bub was under a beach umbrella two seconds after [the] picture was taken.”

The model welcomed Frankie Violet in October with husband and property developer Jake Wall.

Before giving birth, she’d spoken candidly about getting pregnant again after suffering a miscarriage.
