An Australian woman who had no idea she was pregnant gave birth to a healthy baby girl on her bathroom floor.

Erin Langmaid (23), a model from Melbourne, suddenly became a mother two weeks ago when she unexpectedly welcomed daughter Isla to the world, despite reportedly showing no signs of pregnancy, Daily Mail reports.

Erin claims she had no nausea, baby bump or cravings and only felt ill on the day her daughter was born, News.com.au reports.

“I wasn’t showing obviously because I fit into everything,” she said.

“It’s just really bizarre.”

Erin had gone to the bathroom after falling ill and within 10 minutes her daughter arrived – a moment that caught her boyfriend, Daniel Carty (31), off-guard.

“I heard a scream and I ran in there and then I saw the little one and I thought, ‘Hang on, there’s two’,” he recalled.

“When I ran in there I was flabbergasted.”

Daniel’s shock quickly turned to panic when he realised that baby Isla had stopped breathing so he called emergency services, People reports.

After rushing both mother and child to hospital, doctors determined that Erin had experienced a cryptic pregnancy which occurs when conventional testing methods fail to detect a pregnancy.

According to Healthline, cryptic pregnancies often go undiscovered until the mother is about 20 weeks along but some women only learn they’re pregnant when the baby arrives.

Despite the dramatic turn of events, Erin and Daniel are excited to be parents and family and friends have rallied around them to help get their home ready for the new arrival.
