New moms should look out for this Facebook scam

Scores of new moms turn to the internet for help when they haven’t received the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) benefits due to them during their maternity leave.

“Don’t use the services of Awesome Moms UIF,” Sharlene de Kock writes on Hellopeter, a website where consumers report grievances about poor service.

Awesome Moms UIF is run by a Mariska van Deventer and has more than 3,000 followers on Facebook. The business purports to be a service which helps mothers on maternity leave, who have not recieved their UIF, claim it from the department of labor.
