It’s that time of the year; when I stack my 3 weeks of annual leave against my sons’ 6-week summer holiday… and then think real rude thoughts about how our society has been structured.
I mean, seriously? What if you don’t have a Gran-on-Call, or a housekeeper, an au pair or a stay-at-home parent? It’s all very stressful.
24.com is a pretty awesome place to bring your children (Foozball! Pool! X-box!), and I do sometimes smuggle the boys in on days when childcare plans all fell apart, and try to pretend they are just really, really young interns. (‘Nothing to see here, folks! Just business as usual!’)
Clearly this is not a long-term strategy. So, I need your help, folks. What are your working parent holiday solutions? Please let the rest of us know; I’m pretty sure there isn’t a family in the country that couldn’t do with some help here. There’s a R250 festive kalahari.com voucher in it for the best suggestions.
