'Is it still wise to bring kids into this world?' asked a concerned user on our Parent24 forums.

I understand her fears about the horrors that seem to dominate in the news.

Then I am reminded by the great beauty and joy to be had in simple, good things, as so beautifully captured by Sam Wilson's 11-year-old son in her latest Parent24 column: Pockets of family bliss.
