My mom (aka Ouma) once told me she feels the same inside herself as when she was 16.
And in my 40s, I find myself at a similar mental age: awkward, never dressed right, full of untapped potential.
I asked my husband his mental age, and he unhesitatingly said: '8!'
In truth it varies, I suppose. Sometimes I feel the burdens of responsibility so hard I feel as old as the hills.
Other times I laugh and laugh and feel exactly the age of my youngest son: 10.
