'I love you no matter what': 6 famous celebs who love their LGBT kids

1. Annette Bening & Warren Beatty

Stephen Ira Beatty, who was born Kathlyn Elizabeth Beatty, came out at the early age of 14 and made a public statement in a video on his YouTube channel declaring to the world that he is in fact transgender. 

In the video he thanks his friends who have supported him throughout the process, but makes no mention of his celebrity parents. He also goes on to call himself: "a trans man, a faggy queen, a homosexual, a queer, a nerd fighter, a writer, an artist and a guy who needs a haircut."

2. Cher

Chaz, born Chastity Sun Bono, came out as a lesbian at the age of 18. However, Chaz was still not happy and felt he wasn't able to be how he really felt. According to an interview with The Daily Mail, Cher said her son had spoken to her about having a sex changes for years.  

She said: "He’d talk about doing it, then he would go off it. Then he finally did it. It’s a huge decision — not something you make lightly." Chaz completed the transition in 2010 with the support of his family and friends. 

3. R. Kelly

At only 14-years-old, the brave teenager made his announcement on social media in June 2014. However, his celeb dad claimed that Jay coming out was not true. 

Born Jaya Kelly, the teen has since revealed that he is in fact transgender and living as a boy. As he responded to questions on his Ask.fm profile, Jay said he had identified as a male since he was 6 or 7 and that his mom, Andrea Kelly, has known all along. 

He wrote: "My mom was like, 'Baby, you know I love you if you were bi, gay, lesbian, you name it and I would still love you so much." She was very proud of me, I was like, 'Thank you mom for accepting the fact that I'm a transgender'."

4. Magic Johnson

The former NBA star's son was publicly outed by media in 2013, but according to an interview with Oprah, the athlete said that they were all aware that their son was gay. 

Him and his wife Cookie have been supporting E.J. all the way. "I told him, ‘E.J. I love you and I’m going to support you no matter what'," he said.

5. Barbra Streisand

According to an article on the advocate.com, the singer/actress' son Jason Gould knew he was gay by the age of 8. Gould was outed by tabloids in the 90's.

6. Sally Field 

Sam Greisman has been openly gay since the age of 18. In an open letter she wrote about her experiences as a mother and how she has supported her kids throughout their lives, come what may. 

"Sam is my youngest son, by 18 years, and he's gay. To that, I say: 'So what?'."
