Royal baby watch turned into royal baby-name watch after a photo call at Windsor Castle yesterday when Baby Sussex made his debut.
Presented to the world by his proud first-time parents, the newborn was then whisked off to meet his great-grandparents, after which the family announced the baby's name.
The Duke and Duchess settled on Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, a name so unique that none of the predictions was accurate, not even our list of more than 60 names based on royals gone before (see the full list below).
Archie Harrison is Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's eighth great-grandchild, and despite being 7th in line to the throne, the baby carries no royal title.
According to one Royal Commentator, Omid Scobie, Harry and Meghan's decision not to use a title gives their child a chance at a "normal a life as possible."
While distinct, the given names aren't a complete break from tradition, which usually determines that a royal child is named after its royal ancestors.

Naming Harry's son
The inspiration behind the first name - Archie a shortening of the name Archibald, meaning "truly brave" - is said to be taken from late Princess Diana's 17th-century ancestor, the 9th Earl of Argyll, Archibald Campbell.
While Harrison has no royal precedent, its meaning - "son of Harry" - makes the choice a fairly obvious one.
While the punters mourn over their losses, here's a look at some of the other names Harry and Meghan may have considered in their search for the perfect name.
Maybe some inspo for your next baby?
