We all know that choosing the perfect name for your unborn baby is a tough exercise.
Between finding a name that sounds good with your baby's surname, picking a name that doesn't conflict with a family member's name and finding the perfect name that you and your partner agree on - it is no easy feat!
Buy a name
It's even harder to pick a unique baby name that your child won't hate when they get older. A new Swiss company called Erfolgswelle offers a special, if not somewhat expensive, service.
For only $32,000 (or R370,000) a team consisting of 14 creative naming experts, 4 historians, 12 translators and 2 trademark attorneys will create a completely unique name for your baby.
The team assures that your baby's new name doesn't have a terrible meaning in a different language or that it isn't already registered as a company somewhere in the world. They also create a new history and mythology for the name (which sounds a little like just making things up).
The company is said to "brainstorm" hundreds of names before giving the parents-to-be 15 to 25 options to choose from. If the names don't appeal to the parents, the team will offer another set of options.
All in all it sounds like a rather lengthy and complicated situation. Or you could just take a look at our baby naming tool - it's free!
