The world just said hello to George and Amal Clooney's twins, daughter Ella and son Alexander.

Clearly well thought out by the classy couple, the sweet sounding names strike a strong contrast to the tone set by Hollywood stars before them.

We've almost come to expect bizarre names from A-listers.

And since Hollywood has been buzzing with baby news.

Here are the latest baby names — both traditional and otherwise — by stars who welcomed their little ones this year.

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana:

Born 3 January, son Eissa Al Mana.

Geri Halliwell And Christian Horner:

Baby boy Montague George Hector Horner was born 21 January.

Daughter, Bluebell Madonna Halliwell is Geri's first child.


Zoë Saldana and Marco Perego

Born in February, son Zen Perego-Saldana.

The couple also have twin boys, Cy Aridio Perego-Saldana and Bowie Ezio Perego-Saldana.

Nick Cannon and Brittany Bell

Son Golden "Sagon" Cannon was born 21 February.

He shares twins Moroccan Scott Cannon and Monroe Cannon with ex-wife, Mariah Carey.

Amber Tamblyn And David Cross

Born in February, daughter Marlow Alice Cross.

Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied

Amalia Millepied was born 22 February.

The couple's first born is Aleph Portman-Millepied.

Wonder Woman star, Gal Gadot and Yaron Versano: 

Daughter Maya Versano was born 19 March.

The couple's first child is 5-year-old, Alma Versano.

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk

Baby girl, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper was born 21 March.

Jeff Goldblum and Emilie Livingston

Born 7 April, son River Joe Goldblum.

The couple's first child is Charlie Ocean Goldblum.

Ciara and Russell Wilson

Baby girl Sienna Princess Wilson was born 28 April.

Ciara's first child is 3-year-old, Future Zahir Wilburn.

Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik

Son, Charlie Wolf Pechenik was born in May.

The couple's first child is Elsie Otter Pechenik
