Haydn's first moments in the world.
Getting respectable before officially meeting Mom and Dad. He was not overly charmed by it all but cleaned up quite nicely.
My husband is incredibly proud of the picture. He calls it his National Geographic shot.
Having checked him out, the pediatrician assured me that he is going to be a completely fit and healthy little boy.
Haydn will be 5 on 15th December and is a real character. This was from his school parade.
Cord clamped. Lungs proving to work perfectly.
“My first set of clothing and they put me in hospital issue dress!”
The nurse took Haydn away to give him a bit of a clean up. Before the doctor stitched me up, my husband asked what the “little white balls” in my stomach were. The doctor announced that those were my fat cells. Just what every girl wants to hear!
Holding Haydn for the first time was incredible. I remember wondering whether he really could recognise my voice.
More table time while the pediatrician and nurses checked Haydn out.
I remember the doctors comparing him to a fish they had recently caught together on a fishing trip. They guessed around 3kgs and were pretty spot on. Haydn weighed about 3.1kgs at birth.
Cutting of the umbilical cord.
Yuck! I cannot believe that I called him beautiful when they first pulled him out and showed him to me.
