Baby Porsche joins Alfa and Mercedes
Car-obsessed UK mom opts for car manufacturer’s names for her kids.
Motoring fanatic UK mom Joy Lowther named her latest child Porsche after giving birth (appropriately) in the baby aisle of her local supermarket. Baby Porsche Smith is the latest addition to the family with a speedy name: She joins her siblings Alfa and Mercedes and non-car kid Frank, according to the Mail Online.

Alfa’s real name is Alfie, but Joy says that since his sisters have motoring monikers, they usually call him Alfa.

In addition, Joy adds that if baby-aisle-Porsche ever gets another boy sibling, she’d like to call him Bentley… We’re sure they’d get on with Axl Jack, Josh Duhamel and Fergie’s new arrival, especially in the event of a flat tyre.

Many parents also name their cars, so maybe it’s only fair that their babies get names that will take them places.

The naming of Messiah

There are plenty of exotic, weird and wonderful baby names. Just last week, the US court case on whether or not a mom could name her son “Messiah” found in her favour; she had previously been told that the name carried too much of a religious connotation, and that there could be “only one Messiah”, according to the Chicago Tribune. A judge overruled the magistrate who had insisted the mom name her child “Martin”. A New Zealand court once prevented a couple from naming their kid "Lucifer".

If you’re considering baby names for your bump, here are a couple of the best and worst:

A name to be proud of

Give African kids African names

Crazy banned baby names

Do you name your car? If so, what is the name?
