According to several news sites Beyoncé gave birth in her own section of Lenox Hill Hospital of New York. The rumoured price tag for the stay is $1.3 million but the duo have said to have caused some undue turmoil for other new parents in the hospital with their heavy security detail.
Almost-due, Tanisha Newton, told E! News
that she and her 2 young children were asked to leave the floor on Saturday night despite her own advanced pregnancy.
"I was almost restrained and so were my children. It was bad because look who they are. They been pushing, tugging, [saying], 'Ma'am you have to move. This is a secluded area," vented Newton.
New dad Neil Coulson told the New York Daily News that "he was kicked out of the neonatal intensive care unit on multiple occasions while visiting with his premature twin daughters
But it seems like the star couple have found a defender in New York mayor, Michael Bloomberg: "Let's step back a little bit here," he told reporters, cautioning people against criticizing the private facility for renting out floors or wings, while admitting that a city-run hospital would never allow the practice to occur. "If [the hospital] got paid a lot of money and it let them provide services to other people who don't have insurance or can't afford it, I'm not so sure it's a bad thing," he said. "Full-paying patients are very valuable to hospitals in this day and age."
