Babymoon like Beyoncé

accreditation

This weekend Beyoncé was meant to be headlining at the Coachella music festival. But since announcing that she was expecting twins, she postponed her Coachella debut and headed off to Bora Bora with Jay Z for a babymoon instead.

A babymoon is a little holiday that couples take before their babies are born, so that they can spend some quality time with just each other before the utterly time consuming (yet rewarding) experience of becoming parents is thrust upon them.

But Beyoncé and Jay Z already have a 5-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy so I'm assuming they jetted off without her to enjoy some quality time. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that because with twins on the way, I sure as heck would want to enjoy some quiet time before the babies arrive.

And if you're looking to have a babymoon like Beyoncé but don't feel like jetting off internationally then good old South Africa has some amazing luxury destinations so that you too can babymoon like Beyoncé.

The suites are authentically decorated to recall the pioneering times of the nineteenth century African explorers. The air-conditioned suites are situated along the banks of the seasonal Nwaswitsontso River. Providing supreme comfort, privacy and effortless birding, Tintswalo offers guests opportunity to view a large variety of big game from the privacy of your suite.

Luxury Railways

A luxury accommodation round up would not be complete without mentioning South Africa's two luxury railways: The Rovos Rail and the Blue Train. Unless you're Scrooge McDucking it in cash, before baby arrives would be the time to experience this way of travelling because once that kid is here that's where all your money will be going

Rovos Rail

Recapture the romance of a bygone era as you step aboard the reconditioned wood-panelled coaches and enjoy fine cuisine in five-star luxury.

Since its establishment in 1989, Rovos Rail has earned an international reputation for its truly world-class travel experiences. The trains - which may be hauled diesel or electric locomotives at various stages of the journey - carry a maximum of 72 passengers in 36 superbly appointed suites.

Let me just point out that this is a full sized bath in a train carriage. Where train carriages are usually so small you can barely turn around.

You can travel in style all the way to Victoria Falls or live in luxury for 15 days all the way to Dar Es Salaam.

Starting from R 17 495 p.p.s the Rovos Rail is the ultimate in luxury train travel.

Blue Train

Luxury takes on a new dimension with The Blue Train. You'll feel it the moment you step into the pre-departure lounges in Pretoria or Cape Town. A warm-hearted South African welcome begins a journey that is defined by personal attention and devotion to detail.

Starting from R 13 795 per suite, the Blue Train is slightly cheaper than the Rovos Rail but by no means any less fancy.
