Fascinating answers emerged when we asked our Facbook fans whether they fed their babies with the breast, a bottle or both. This just goes to show that there are so many ways to feed a hungry baby successfully.
Wish I could've done breast but both kids where in prem and in ICU for a while and wouldn't latch. I have also noticed both time the hospital was quick to give the bottle instead of encouraging or helping to breastfeed - Sharlene Collins Bottle
Whatever is best for baby and mommy. Was under pressure by friends to do breast with my first child and it turned out that after 2 weeks of starving my baby I still had no milk. Not to mention the moms that can't due to babies in ICU or other reasons. Wish some moms would stop judging others when it comes to this topic and just be happy for whatever reasons they choose to do either - Janine Liebenberg

While I am very pro breast, I do agree that if the mommy simply isn't comfortable with it, sometimes a content mother can go a much further way. I gave both my littlies breast but only because that worked best for me - Maryna Schoch

My milk dried up after 2 weeks so I had no choice but to use the bottle. One thing that hacked me off was nasty comments from strangers when they saw me feeding with a bottle. Seriously not cool, people shouldn't judge others esp. when you aren't aware of the history! Same went for the emergency c-section I had to have after 3 1/2 days of labour! - Fiona Crowley
Ii think it depends on the situation too! I breastfed both boys until I went back to work. I couldn't keep up with expressing in the office. But it just doesn't work for some women! I'd never judge a mom for opting for bottle. You do what works for you. Some women's circumstances don't allow for breastfeeding - Rebecca Van Eeden
Depends on baby and mommy. We all know that breast milk is best, but sometimes there are reasons that make breast feeding not possible. I wanted to introduce the bottle to both my children because I needed the break, but neither of them liked the bottle. So it is depends on the situation. Both- my daughter was a lazy feeder so I would express into a bottle for her. My son was a hungry lion so he would take the breast first and then a bottle to top up - Umna Adams
