A video being circulated online is stirring up animated debates about child safety. According to The Mirror, it is being used by both dog lovers and anti-pit bull activists as ammunition for their arguments. The reason for the divisive comments: a four-year-old girl is being filmed feeding her family’s six pit bulls supper.

Presumably it is her mother behind the camera, and she offers the child gentle guidance from time to time, but the little girl is clearly at ease with the large animals and they obey her commands without fail.

She greets each one, gets them all to sit patiently, and then also commands them to line up while she pours and mixes their food. Despite the tension created by the wait, they sit meekly by waiting for her to count them down to their meal.

Dangerous way of proving a point, or simple family supper?

The narrator interjects that the video is proof that a little girl and her family can live together with six male pit bulls, adding that “some people say it could never be done”.

Dog enthusiasts have enjoyed this video, seeing it as proof for their argument that pit bulls are perfectly safe, but others are horrified that a vulnerable child is put in a potentially disastrous situation with a breed often linked to attacks on adults and children.
