All in a day's walk on Mother's Day weekend!

accreditation

Heart 104.9FM Mommy & Me Walk in association with Toys R Us

Mommies and their little ones will be partaking in a relaxed and entertaining 1.6km walk all for a good cause on Saturday 8 May. New mom and on-air personality, Saskia Falken will be leading the pack with her bundle of joy in aid of the Canal Walk Foundation.

The 2009 Heart 104.9FM Mommy and Me Walk in association with Canal Walk and People's Post, raised more than R15 000 funds for learning skills development in three informal settlement Primary Schools namely; Sopokama, Du Noon and Marconi Beam.  This year's funds will once again go to one of the Canal Walk Foundations' charities.  The foundation focuses on areas of development such as education, health, job creation and sponsorship of arts development programmes. This year funds raised with the Heart 104.9FM Mommy & Me Walk will go to the St Joseph Home, for chronically ill children, in Montana, just off the N2 in the Western Cape.

So this Mother's Day weekend, moms, put your trainers on and head to Canal Walk where you and your child can have a fun-filled morning in aid of helping other less fortunate children.

Pre-registration will take place at Canal Walk from Friday April 30th - Friday 7th May from 9am-9pm next to Toys R Us. Entry is at R30 per mom and kid and will cost R5 for every additional kid.

On Saturday, 8th May, moms have to check in with their walk numbers from 07h00 as the walk starts at 08h15. Kids can get their faces painted while being entertained by clowns before the walk starts.

Even though the focus of the walk is for charity, our sponsors have not forgotten to spoil the moms. Each mom will receive a time-out goodie bag when crossing the finishing line for doing their bit to help others.

Entry forms can be found at Toys R Us Canal walk during registration.
