Food24's Chef Caro overheard this exchange in the queue the other day:
3-year-old little girl: "Can I have a Kit Kat, mommy?"
Mom: "No, we don't want to get a little tummy when we wear our bikinis on holiday, do we?"
Excuse me, what? She's 3-years-old and you're already giving her body complex issues? Isn't it enough that when she hits adolescence she will more than likely have developed these issues because society tells us that we have to be super skinny and beautiful to be successful?
If you didn't want your kid to have a chocolate, just say no. You're her mom, you're allowed to. Just don't give her a complex in the process.
What reasons do you give your kids for when you say no to sweets?
