Can you trust dads? Some dads, perhaps. Not all dads, certainly. There’s a madness to dadness that some possess which means that every time they’re left to their own devices they get up to no good. Some dads make a huge mess in the kitchen while others create strange things in their workshops. This dad has taken boredom to a whole new level, though.

All we need is a flamethrower, chainsaw and an old bicycle

In the same way that a cat will climb into an empty box (and so will a toddler- what’s that about?), dads are known for interacting creatively with their surroundings when they’re bored.

Sometimes it has a practical outcome; let’s say he installs that useful shelf you’ve been thinking about for eight years, and sometimes it leads to chaotic daddery- souping up the lawnmower engine so that it doubles as an awfully dangerous off-road vehicle, for example.

Then you get Roman Atwood.

He’s a self-proclaimed prankster with the heart of a child, so, when he gets left alone with the kids he comes up with what must be the most awesome thing to do to get rid of the boredom blues.

He turns his entire house into a ball pit.

Cue an impromptu house party of note, including diving off the first floor (don’t try that at home, kids) and general ball pit mayhem.

It looks like a Dr Seuss-inspired, multi-coloured, full-body fun!

Knock knock

Then his wife calls to say she’s almost home.

Uh oh.

Watch and see how Roman’s wife reacts…
