Make picture bunting for baby's room

accreditation

You’ll need:

  • cut outs from magazines or newspapers
  • cardboard, scissors, glue
  • kokkies, wool, punch, tape

Instructions:

  1. To make interesting pictures for your baby to look at while in a crib, or playpen, cut out (or draw) pictures from magazines. Look for ones that are of a person’s face, have a colourful pattern, or are just a black and white design
  2. Glue each picture on a piece of cardboard and fasten it to the bars of the crib or playpen. Keep it low enough so that a baby can focus on it while lying on his or her stomach or back
  3. As your baby grows older you can look for more pictures with a complicated design, and faces that show emotion. If you are drawing the pictures yourself, keep the faces simple adding detail with design
  4. A nice variation on this activity is to use printed pictures of you and your partner for baby to recognize. You can also attach these pictures to the bottom of your wall and use them as eye targets for your baby to crawl towards
