Finger-painting is a great way to give your toddler's fine-motor skills a good workout and keep them busy during lockdown.
And the best part is, you don't have to buy any because you can make your own kid-friendly finger-paint with edible ingredients that you already have in your house.
Given that the ingredients are all edible, there's no danger if your little one decides to put their fingers in their mouth.
It's an especially handy DIY if you're getting them ready for their first experience with finger painting.

Here's how:
Ingredients:
- Maizena
- Water
- Food colouring
Method:
In a saucepan, mix ½ a cup of Maizena with 2 cups of water. Stir the mixture while bringing to the boil. Leave to simmer until thick and transparent.
Take off the heat and colour with food colouring.
Pour into containers and let it cool down. Once the paints are cool, give your tot some paper and let him express his creativity.
Some newspaper or black bags on the floor will catch the mess.
