TV experiment proves kids WILL go with strangers, against parent’s advice.

An experiment set up by UK TV programme Daybreak and children’s charity Kidscape has horrified parents, according to Daily Mail. In the short clip, it takes a checked-shirted male stranger an average of just 90 seconds to lure children away from a playground, even when the kids were with their moms.

Friendly but potentially deadly

The moms were aware of the experiment, and were shocked to see their children, one girl as old as 11, being coaxed away from a gated playground by a friendly grown-up stranger.

The experiment called for the mothers to receive a phone call at the play park. They’d then leave the area. A fake security guard would then ask the individual children to help him look for a lost child or a dog.

Out of the nine kids approached, reported the channel, seven went with the man whom they had never seen before.

The children, most of whom were younger than 10, were aware of the “stranger danger” rule, prompting researchers to remind parents that strangers do not necessarily appear scary, and may even be friendly. They suggested that parents tell kids that all strangers are not to be trusted.
