Chilling ‘save the boy’ ad

An ad promoting the importance of parents knowing first aid has been striking a nerve, according to St. John’s Ambulance Services.

The ad forms part of a campaign aimed at empowering parents with first aid skills so that should the unthinkable happen and a child is injured, the parents may be able to save a life. St. John’s is a UK organisation which specialises in first aid training.

What’s particularly scary in the ad is how fast an accident can happen, even in seemingly innocuous circumstances. Not only that, but parents may be oblivious that a child is fighting for his life only metres away...

Even though the dad just answers a phone call and the boy’s mom is apparently just out of reach, everything goes downhill very fast.

A quick look at the SJAS ad “Save the Boy” could well inspire you to add first aid to your list of parenting skills:
