Octomom vs. tanning mom!

No, this isn’t a sequel to The Avengers series, but there is plenty of action between these two headline-grabbing moms. One is the single mother of 14 kids (and, recently, a porn actress), the other, a baaad mommy accused of allegedly treating her 5-year-old daughter to tanning bed time. Now Octomom is insisting that Tanning mom needs parenting advice, and Orange Mommy is seeing, er, red.

You haven’t heard about them? Well, here are just a few of the scary details about these slightly wacky moms:

Octomom

That’s her media nickname. In real life, she’s Nadya Suleman, mother of 14 kids, including her infamous octuplets, all via in-vitro fertilisation, and all supported by public assistance projects. When news of her huge family surfaced, she became largely vilified by the American public. She recently embarked on a series of pornographic videos to supplement her income, all depicting her on her own, mind you, as she claims to be entirely celibate. In Touch magazine quotes Octomom as saying in an interview:

"I hate babies, they disgust me... Obviously, I love them—but I absolutely wish I had not had them.”

Tanning mom

Patricia Krentcil is famous for her passion for tanning- an addiction which gave her bad press when her 5-year-old daughter claimed that she had accompanied her mom to tanning bed sessions. She has been charged with child endangerment. Her bizarre behaviour has given her skin a surreal orange tone, and has led to her being banned from over 60 tanning establishments in her local area. She insists that her passion is normal, and has reportedly offered to pose nude for Playboy (who rejected her offer).

Octomom was recorded saying to celebrity site TMZ that Tanning mom had placed her child at risk of internal organ damage and blindness, as well as the carcinogenic exposure. She went on to suggest that child services should force Tanning mom into parenting classes.

They both seem to be jostling for media attention for all they can get (we wonder who is looking after their kids while their moms are schmoozing), but who is going to win the Battle of the Headlines?
