What we thought:

A car full of teens (plus one tween) was my captive audience for hauling out the Teenage Edition of the Fink Conversation Cards. Each card offers a provocative question or statement, and the idea is to make it easier to start a neutral conversation with teens on trickier topics.

'Do boys and girls think differently about sex?' was the first card we pulled out of the box.

I was expecting the conversation to be a bit stiff, and it was at first. But we got going and we went through a number of cards before arriving at the school gate. Overall the younger teens seemed to enjoy it more, with the 17-year-old getting bored more quickly.

One drawback was that the cards are from the United Kingdom, so a few of the statements were not really relevant to my crowd. But most of the more general questions were thought-provoking and worthwhile.

The cards also come in a Family Edition which would suit younger families.
