Turning 16 is big deal for a girl. Turning 16 and never been kissed all because you’re apparently jinxed? A girl can only take so much.

What we thought:
With her determination to get kissed before her 16th birthday, life throws Lula many curve balls that she has to juggle while at the same time trying to break that ‘curse’ hanging over her head.
Lula Bird is like any soon-to-be 16 year old. She has friends that adore her, a very irritating younger sister and enduring the ups and downs of well, any normal teenager. Things go awry in her life, what with a stalker, a jinx hanging over her head, the town in disarray because of some missing important documents, a family heritage site being possibly destroyed, her dad sneaking around with a woman’s bag meetings some lady called Freya and needing to be kissed before she turns 16. Phew! A girl can only handle so much.
But with a list of candidates, Lula is determined to lift the curse, stop the crime, find out what’s happening with her father, save the heritage site and get kissed all before she turns 16.
This is such a fun read. And what will a chicklit book be without a few makeovers, some really gorgeous guys and very funny one-liners?
This book is highly recommended for girls aged between 12 -15. It’s funny and fast paced and girls can relate.
Think of it as a fabulous take on a Nancy Drew adventure.
