The Safe Sippy 2
Is this finally the sippy cup that will really be spill-proof?
Source

I'm one of those mother's who has bought numerous sippy cups for my son trying find one that was truly "spill-proof". You see whichever one we gave him my son would find a way to get the liquid out so he could mess it about. Which is not great when the liquid is juice or tea.

So when we got this Safe Sippy cup to try out I was sceptical. Because while it also boasted to be spill-proof, I couldn't help wonder if it was Rushdi-proof.

What we liked:

I liked that it was made of stainless steel. It kept his water or juice cold for longer. But it also means that if it was left in the sun it's contents would heat up very quickly. It also doesn't retain smells from juice that was forgotten in there for a few days. My kid is a thrower so it survives the fall from the high chair or just general flinging about.

The rubber sleeve and handles makes it easy for him to grip (all the better to bash things with).

The spout though, was the real test. Because the first thing my son did when he got the cup was to turn it over and try to get the water out. And very little comes out even with the "sippy cup" valve attached.

What we didn't like:

Speaking of the valves, in theory they were my favourite part. There are 3:

The Sippy Valve - so the cup functions as a regular sippy cup.

The Straw with adaptor - so it turns into a straw cup.

The Travel Plug - for closing it completely when you're on the go.

I found it was an effort to remember to switch the valves when we were leaving the house. We so often just barely remember to grab the cup let alone change a valve. Also because of my son's age (16 months) once he was used it it being a sippy cup, when we changed it to the straw function he was confused and got frustrated because he didn't associate it with being a straw cup. He drinks fine from juice boxes and other straws so he has the straw cup thing down in case you were wondering.
