Where can I get it?

What we thought about it:

Written by South African midwife, childbirth educator and doula Irene Bourquin, the The Very Practical Pregnancy Handbook live sup to its name, being above all very practical. Every section, from preparing for conception, through pregnancy concerns, birth and the baby's early days, is full of practical tips and points.

Bouquin clearly calls on years of hands-on experience of what worries new parents, and covers many practical aspects such as what to eat, how to kit out the nursery, and exactly what you can expect to happen in the hospital. Lacking the beautiful illustrations that some bigger pregnancy books boast, this is very much a handbook you'll carry with you, and it's likely to end up a well-thumbed favourite.
