What we thought:

This is an ideal book for any child in primary school (ages 9 to 14) that is interested in how the brain works, is always looking for interesting facts or is simply eager to learn. The book covers all aspects of the brain, ranging from why we have one, the different parts, how it works, senses, pain, sleep, thoughts, personality, emotions, language, memory and creativity. These relatively complicated concepts are explained in a really simple way with tons of photographs and diagrams. It makes learning a whole lot of fun and when your child isn't paging through it you will probably find yourself getting intrigued with all the cool facts.

This is a great holiday gift and will keep your tweens busy for a long time.  It's an invaluable addition to the family library and will ensure that nobody gets bored.  And if they do, they can open the book to find out why!
