Boy blows parent’s life savings on SWEETS!

A boy with a sweet tooth tapped into his parent’s savings to satisfy his cravings, according to HuffPost. The Ukrainian 9-year-old spent nearly $4 000 in trips to his local sweet shop. He repeatedly filched cash from under the family sofa- his parent’s ill-chosen hiding place for their life savings- until there was nothing left.

Sickening discovery

The sickly-sweet crime was only discovered when the father of the boy went to check on his stash, only to find it had vanished.

Not only did the enterprising 9-year-old steal the cash, but he even had a mentally-challenged adult help him convert the money which was in dollars and Euros into the local currency.

Bad habits start small

It’s not unusual for children to pinch their parent’s loose change- for many, it’s a source of guilt for years afterwards- but to clean them out completely is a bit over-the-top, right? Perhaps the best lesson learned here is not to leave your money around the house, and in this way prevent tempting your kids. Or else, if you are the kind of person who hates banks and prefers to make your mattress or sofa your bank, make sure your kids don’t steal it!

Have your kids ever helped themselves to your cash?
