Are sexy dance moves okay for kids?

Ballet, modern or anything in between, dance school is something most little girls want to take part in at some point or another. When sending your kids to a studio and leaving them a professional, you can only hope that they will be taught appropriate dances.

But what if that is not the case?

As a "child dancer" myself, I remember there being certain dances we weren't taught or my instructor asking us to tone down the hip gyrating. As children, we may not have seen the dances as sexual but my instructor was an adult and thankfully put some thought into what our parents may have found inappropriate.

It's difficult to limit a child (which is never encouraged) when they have amazing dance capabilities. It's not easy or fun to tell them to hold back from what they enjoy and are really good at doing.

Take the video below as an example. 10-year-old Kaycee Rice is an amazing dancer. She can move like Beyoncé and she's not afraid to go all out during her routines. She's also apparently a really sweet girl who doesn't brag and just loves to dance. But the routine below was choreographed by an 18-year-old dance instructor and it shows.

The barely-there outfit and sexual dance moves made me a little uncomfortable. Sure, when Beyoncé or Nicki Minaj shake what their mammas gave them, it's an adult doing with their bodies as they please. When a little girl does the same thing, it just feels wrong to watch.
