What moms (or dads) would earn annually for their role as parents.
According to The Value Of A Parent Report, R440,286 (£31,627) is how much a mother, in the UK, would be paid annually for the labour of taking care of the children and for working around the home. A typical mother devotes 71 hours a week to household chores and to caring for the family. The parental value of a dad stands at R333,705 (£23,971) annually, for the 53.5 hours a week that he contributes towards childcare and household duties.

The average working parent’s contribution to domestic work is R 333,357 (£23,946).
The Value of a parent report was commissioned by Insurers Legal & General.
Cost of rearing a child
R2,14,9990 (£154,440) is the average day-to-day cost of raising a child to the age of 18. The report also revealed that expectant mums underestimate the cost of raising a child by about 59%.
Time spent on social media
The report also reveled that both parents spend an average of 5.5 hours each on the net a week researching products and online services. However mums spend an average of 5 hours a week on social media while dads spend 3.5 hours.
Pocket money
Parents spend three times more on pocket money than on insurance.
Time spent with partner
17.5 hours a week are spent with a partner while 7 hours are spent alone.
Lack of planning
Only 31 % of parents said they had a will. 17% of the parents had no plans or had no idea what they would do if one of the parents died. 26% of the parents expect the grandparents to look after the grandkids if the parents should die, thus maintaining the lifestyle.
