5 ways to relate to your teen
Is your teen over-emotional and driving you crazy? Try these 5 tips for getting to know your teen.
STEP BACK - Parents are protective. And that's okay. There are times though when you need to take a step back and let your child learn on their own. Even if they make a minor bad decision, it will be a learning experience.
LISTEN - Your teen is going through a lot. Hormones, school, pressure from friends. Make sure your teen knows that if they need to talk, you'll be there.
SHARE - Were you bullied as a teen? Did you struggle with your weight? Let your teen know that you went through similar experiences.
PLAY - Confused by PlayStations and the games your kid keeps playing? Why not sit with and ask to play too. It'll make your teen feel that you care about what excites them. It's worth a try, right?
THINK BACK - Remember when you were a teenager? Remeber how it sucked/rocked/made you cry? Well that's exactly what your teen is going through right now. So yes, sometimes those cheeky reactions are uncalled for but we've all been there.
