Genius parent creates app for annoyed parents
Parent creates app for annoyed parents of teenagers who often ignore their calls.
How many times have you called your kids and they didn’t answer? How many times have you panicked because you thought that something serious was actually happening? I can answer that question for many parents out there- SO MANY TIMES!
I could also tell you, that many of those times your kid didn’t answer their phone because they saw it was their parent calling and just simply ignored it for some or other reason.
I can think of a few; because either they were with their friends, gaming, or just texting and didn’t want to be interrupted. I know this because I was a teen not too long ago and more than once the ignore button came in so handy.
I could also make you feel a little better as parent and say, it’s not always because it’s you that they are ignoring the call, sometimes it could just be that you are calling at the wrong time.
Be happy parent, there’s a solution!
There’s an equally fed up parent who took matters into her own hands, used her creative brain and created an app for those days your teens just would not pick up their phones.
Ignore No More
The app turns your teen’s mobile phone into a dummy unless they call the parent/guardian back.
The app takes away the phones ability to text, call their friends, gaming as well as surfing the internet.
In case of an emergency, your teen is still able to call 911, as that is a feature that no developer can take off a phone.
How to make the phone work again
No need for teens to panic, all they need to do to get their phone to start working again is to call their parents back and retrieve a code that reactivates the device.
Sharon Standifird, the creator of the app had no experience in the development of applications. According to TakePart, she then did her homework like anyone else would and hopped onto the internet to figure out how one does it. She spent several months working with a team of developers on the Ignore No More project.
There’s always a catch
For those parents with kids who have iPhones, I apologise for this app is only available on Android.
Also, as a child of parents who often fail to answer their phones, I’d like to request an app similar to this one too. I am sure there are millions of similar feelings out there.
