Lady Gaga thrives on the shock factor. She may be famous for her meat dress but she recently showed a different side of her personality when she visited a school.
The Born This Way star shared her struggles with her body when she was in high school with a group of young women.
It was the first time that Lady Gaga had confessed to having an eating disorder in public. She explained how she had wanted to be a "skinny ballerina" and how she "used to throw up all the time in high school".
The Telegraph reports Lady Gaga as saying: "[My] dad had meatballs on the table every night. I used to come home and say, 'Dad, why do you always give us this food? I need to be thin.' And he'd say, 'Eat your spaghetti.'"
No more dieting?
Lady Gaga has something to say about the images young women see everyday. "Every video I'm in, every magazine cover, they stretch you; they make you perfect. It's not real life... The dieting wars have got to stop."
