Two Norwegian teens managed to track down the owner of a bag they’d picked up on a train containing 467,200 kroner (R724 000) and return his lost property to him, reported the Raw Story.

Jackpot!

According to one of the teens, they’d found the bag on a train: “When I opened the bag, the first thing I saw were these wads and wads of bills,” one of the teens, identified as 16-year-old Bendik, told local daily Vestby Avis, “My first thought was to call the police,” he said.

A closer look in the bag yielded the passport of the owner of the money, a man in his 70s. The man was expected to collect the cash from the police, who aren’t sure if there’s a reward involved...

WWYKD? (What Would Your Kids Do?)

Apart from the obvious question: Why on earth would anyone be carrying that amount of cash, the immediate question which springs to mind is, would my kids return that amount of money (or ANY amount, for that matter)

Holding onto found cash could seem like the ideal victimless crime, but we’re fairly sure the owner would be glad to get it back. Parents should encourage their kids to have this kind of integrity, even if it is incredibly tempting to walk away with a new-found fortune.

Would your kids return money they happened to pick up?
