Nervous about receiving your teen's matric results? You can get easy access to them via a number of different options:

School

Schools will post results early. (Call first to make sure they’re there). This is the most fun as classmates can gather round and commiserate or celebrate together.

Newspapers

The results will be published in all major national newspapers as always.

Send a SMS

All your teen has to do is to pre-register via SMS and detailed results will be sent back to them on the day of release. Students can immediately start to register by sending the word DBE (for Department of Basic Education exams) or IEB (for Independent Examination Board exams) followed by their ID number to 35935, at R3 per SMS.  They will receive a return SMS asking for an exam number, for them to receive their detailed results.

Make a call

If students were not able to pre-register, they will also be able to call 082 152 on the day the results are released, select option 6, punch in their ID and exam numbers and the results will be relayed.

Online

The Department of Basic Education's website has all the results – but remember that your teen will need their exam number. Bear in mind that website traffic will be high, so expect delayed response times.

Got the results? Happy, disappointed? Share your experience below or on our forum.
