Should teachers and learners be online buddies?

Teachers are bullied too

A shocking new study by BBC has found that more than a third of teachers are subject to online abuse. A large amount of the abuse was from pupils but a quater of it was found to be initiated by parents.

Now it seems that your child being bullied at school is not the only thing that you need to worry about.

Many teachers are friends with their pupils on social networks and this is where the abuse is starting. Some of the abuse took place over Facebook chat but there are also groups being created by pupils to abuse teachers.

The study also showed that the same pupils who abused teachers were also bullying other students.
