Parent24 chats to Tanya Kovarsky
Mommy blogger, Tanya shares her thoughts on life with a toddler.
Real parents have been chatting to Parent24 about their experiences, which range from side-splittingly funny to deeply moving. Why not find out more about these moms and dads, who are, very often, just like you.
Who is Tanya Kovarsky?
Tanya Kovarsky is a blogging, running, writing, editing and Apple addicted mom who is still trying to keep calm and carry on while her two-and-a-half year old toddler, Max plays with her iPad and throws the occasional tantrum.
What have you enjoyed most about being a parent so far?
So much – from little hands giving me tight hugs and hearing the word "mama", to learning lessons again by teaching them to my son, as well as fun stuff – jumping on the bed, playing peekaboo, wrestling on the couch and eating ice cream for breakfast.
What would you do over, if you had the chance?
I would go back to the first few weeks of Max being born and realise what a gift they were, instead of worrying about my life never being the same again.
Any tips you have for new parents, based on your own experiences?
Get help in whatever form, don't be a martyr, and if you're feeling blue, there's no shame in seeking medical advice. Also, baby's bottles don't need to be heated up – a great tip from my friends who didn't heat up bottles for their second babies.
Your craziest parenting moment? Why not share it with us?
I guess it would be my recent purchase of seven pairs of Woolworths' fleece truck and digger pajamas so that Max could wear them every day. I realised his pajamas would become his daywear too when one morning I tried to take them off. It sounded like he was being tortured, which for a toddler, it probably was.
