WATCH: These kids performed Old Town Road better than Lil Nas X when he visited their school

If you haven’t heard the number one song – for nine straight weeks now – on the Billboard Hot 100, or sang along to it in the car listening to the Coca Cola Top 40 SA, stream Old Town Road right now so you can appreciate the pure joy of watching these kids’ dreams come true.

Lil Nas X visited the learners at Lander Elementary School in the US to perform his country rap mashup. “I’m finna do the biggest show of my life and it’s gonna be great,” he said, before taking the school stage. But rating Lil Nas X’s biggest show is near impossible because we could barely hear him over the excitement.

The school hall erupted in screams when he came out, the kids started dancing before taking over the singing and rapping too, and they knew all the words to their favourite song.

And this isn’t the first time kids put on their cowboy boots and hats to make their own version of the iconic song and video.

North West “directed and choreographed” her own video, dressed head-to-toe in what appears to be a Woody costume? Old Town Road but make it fashun!

And we have to mention Mrs Merlette, a teacher in Birmingham Alabama, who remixed the entire song and taught it to her third grade class. Lil Nas X even responded to her tweet, “i’m cheesing hard as hell watching this. this beautiful lol”.

I’m just going to say it – these covers of Old Town Road are better than the original. And can’t nobody tell me nothin’!
