Social media is hardly known for its outpouring of love and positivity.
Harsh (to the point of inducing tears), yes.
Sweet and accommodating, hardly ever.
So when this guy from Joburg posted a tweet requesting that people send his mom a birthday message directly to her cell, we had to share.
People got all kinds of sentimental, and better yet, made good on @SbuDaGawd's request.
Thankfully the trolls sat down for this one, with responses ranging from heartwarming to tear-jerking.
Some even replied with proof of their WhatsApp messages, SMSes and calls to the unsuspecting mom.
Restoring faith in humanity is not exactly within the Twitter mandate, but hey, stranger things have happened
"... only one I love is mom"
It's oddly comforting to know that a grown-up son could still have this level of love for his mom.
It reminded us of the little guy in the video below. Just imagine the sweet things he'll do for her when he's all grown up.
What's the sweetest thing your son (or daughter) has ever done for you? Tell us in the comments below or email to chatback@parent24.com and we could publish them. Do let us know if you'd like to stay anonymous.
